Mike Marvin for 26 years worked as a bus driver for the City of Omaha, proudly transporting working people across the city from their homes to their jobs. Mike knows what it means to actually work for a living, unlike many who serve in Washington D.C.

As a longtime labor leader in Nebraska, being a member of the Transport Workers Union Local 223 and Executive Director of NAPE/AFSCME, Mike understands the stress that average workers are put through on a daily basis, and believes that it is our time now, to stand against the billionaire class and their control over our lives.

As a longtime member of the Legal Marijuana Now party, Mike has long held the belief that marijuana should be legalized across the United States for medical and recreational purposes. He promises on day one, to take this fight to Washington on behalf of the millions of people across this great nation who use marijuana to their own benefit.

Mike is against the ongoing surveillance of the citizens of the United States by its own government. Mike promises to repeal the PATRIOT act and to reestablish every American’s right to privacy.

The United States government hasn’t technically participated in a war since World War Two, and yet we continue to fight on foreign lands. The United States must no longer participate in these foreign entanglements that have done nothing else but to stoke anger against the United States and hurt our very own servicemen and servicewomen. Every single dollar spent to drop bombs in another nation, are your tax dollars that could be spent on our schools, or our infrastructure. We must realign our interests in government with those of the people!

Mike supports ending the Supreme Court’s ruling on Citizens United, and believes that all elections in the United States must be funded purely through tax dollars. We continue to witness politicians across both political parties wilfully take corporate PAC dollars or foreign lobbying money. This MUST be put to an end.

Our elected officials must no longer be allowed to engage in stock trading or become lobbyists after having served. We must expose the swamp for what it is, a place where the wealthiest are allowed to get away with the most heinous acts. That is why Mike will vote in support of releasing the Epstein files and seek justice for the countless victims who were oppressed and violated by the many perpetrators. No matter what party or who was involved, justice must be served to renew belief in government and our justice system.

We must protect and expand these services that have been so crucial to the lives of millions of Americans. Social Security has proven to be the most successful government program throughout U.S. history, ensuring that our elderly population are able to retire comfortably and not in poverty. Mike pledges to eliminate the income cap placed on Social Security, allowing it to continue perpetually and allow our children and grandchildren to receive this truly important service. 

Medicare and Medicaid must be expanded, and eventually cover every single American. Private medical insurance has proven to be a disaster in the United States. Each year, tens of thousands of Americans die due to a lack of health insurance coverage. This is an issue that is resolvable, but hasn’t been taken care of due to the powerful insurance lobby. Mike promises to fight back against insurance companies and ensure that every single American has access to life-saving healthcare that will not place them in debt. Medical debt is a concept that doesn’t exist in other developed nations. Mike will fight for your right for universal healthcare.

Labor unions for decades have been under constant attack by business interests. Mike stands firmly with his brothers and sisters in organized labor and seeks to incorporate labor unions in as many ways as possible in our economy. Representation in the workplace matters, and with corporations treating workers like cattle, we must fight back.
